We initially thought that the non-healing wound on Papa Rene’s leg was caused by diabetes. However, after being evaluated by doctors in Bicol, we were told that the problem was more serious. His blood circulation was severely compromised, and we were advised that he may need a bypass procedure to restore blood flow to his leg.
Because of the seriousness of his condition, we decided to seek further medical care here in Manila. After additional evaluation, we learned that there is an underlying problem with his artery that needs urgent repair, and he now needs an EVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair) procedure.
This is an urgent, time-sensitive situation. His procedure needs to be done ASAP, and every moment matters.
Papa Rene is single and has no wife or children of his own, but he has spent much of his life helping raise and care for his pamangkins. He is a loving, selfless, playful, and joyful person who has always brought laughter and happiness to our family.
We are all the way from Bicol, taking our chances here in Manila, because our hometown does not have the facilities and specialists equipped to perform this kind of procedure.
Our family has currently pooled together ₱200,000, but the estimated cost of his operation and treatment is around ₱1.6 million. We are still seeking financial assistance to make his treatment possible.
